Grove Farm, Cardington,
the heart of the Shropshire Hills.
Nestled in the heart of the breath-taking Shropshire Hills, Grove Farm is a charming 3-storey farmhouse situated in the quaint chocolate box village of Cardington – Shropshire’s equivalent to the Cotswolds!
This delightful traditional farmhouse dates back to 1683, and historically has been a traditional working farm. It remains this way as we continue to farm here in the Shropshire Hills.
Explore the majestic village of Cardington and the surrounding countryside, returning to the comfort of the Royal Oak, a stones throw away – one of the oldest pubs in Great Britain.
Lying within an area of outstanding natural beauty, Grove Farm offers the perfect base from which to explore the small historic market town of Church Stretton, also referred to as “Little Switzerland”.
We look forward to welcoming you to Grove Farm – the perfect rural escape.

Accommodation
As you enter through the large traditional iron gates, there is plentiful car parking space for all the family. Park up, and rest assured there will be plenty of space for relatives arriving a little later.
Feel a warm country welcome as you enter the delightful farmhouse through a period door. As you enter, the cosy warmth of underfloor heating will warm your toes as you settle in. There will always be one of my homemade bakes awaiting you on arrival!
Gather round the huge kitchen island, pull up a bar stool as you enjoy a glass of wine and a chat whilst preparing an evening meal for the whole family. The magnificent open plan kitchen/diner accommodates a large table, perfect for gathering the family round for a homemade casserole – the perfect setting for making wonderful family memories.
Take your pick as you retreat to one of two cosy sitting rooms where the toasty wood burning stoves await you in its original fireplace. These stunning period features have been restored with great care and attention.
Grove Farm boasts 6 bedrooms, all with luxurious en-suites for that extra convenience whilst on holiday.
As you reach the first floor, you will find two super-king-size bedrooms, both of which can be converted into twin rooms upon request, and benefit from en-suite facilities, plus a nice little bunk room that features an en-suite bath for added indulgence.
Continue your journey to the second floor, where you will discover two additional super-king-size bedrooms, again with the flexibility to be converted into twin rooms and boasting en-suite facilities.
A twin room with an en-suite walk-in shower completes the sleeping arrangements in this charming farmhouse.
As you slide open the large patio doors, you are in for a real treat! Feature fencing encloses a huge garden – the perfect setting for alfresco with the whole family. Our very own home reared beef cattle will neighbour you in the surrounding fields – a true snapshot of rural Shropshire.

Idyllic Walking Location
Grove Farm is nestled in the tranquil village of Cardington – the perfect base for some idyllic walking trails. Cardington really is Shropshire’s very own version of the Cotswolds, with many quaint country cottages to admire!
Cardington is a great starting point for climbing the iconic Caer Caradoc – an ancient iron age hill fort. When you reach the summit, take a breath as you absorb the simply stunning panoramic views of the surrounding hills.
Cardington is delightfully quiet and makes a good destination for more scenic rambling. Why not walk to Church Stretton via the Cwms Lane for a spot of lunch, returning via Hope Bowdler Hill, Wilstone Hill and finally the Wilderness. On return to Cardington after a busy day exploring the hills, The Royal Oak awaits you to quench your thirst and tempt your appetite.
St James Church neighbours The Royal Oak. In its elevated position, it gives it an impressive setting. Enjoy a peaceful walk round the church, before returning to Grove Farm.
