Wilstone, Cardington,
the heart of the Shropshire Hills
Wilstone Cottage is a delightfully charming detached 3 bedroom cottage, half a mile from the village of Cardington.
It offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside – you really won’t be disappointed waking up in this idyllic location.
The cottage dates back to the 1700’s and was a workman’s cottage up until 1969. It stood derelict for 45 years and during that time even grew a tree! Whilst it was a workman’s cottage, pigs were kept in the garden and there was a windmill for electricity.
Wilstone Cottage is bursting with character; our favourite being the traditional stone bake oven. Why not take a peek inside and imagine yourself lighting a fire before cooking a meal for your family on a cold winters night.
Another traditional feature is the fire in the bedroom above the dining room. This would have been lit to heat the rooms before the days of central heating.
This quaint country cottage is full of charm and personality!

Accommodation
As you enter the cottage through a grand oak door, the personality and charm of Wilstone Cottage will greet you – a lovely mixture of old with the new!
The kitchen will equip you with everything you need to cook a lovely evening meal for the whole family.
Light the woodburning stove, relax and enjoy family time in the cosy dining room which accommodates a large dining table for those scrumptious meals. A period stone oven is set back within the original fireplace – such a delight to enjoy as you keep warm with a glass of wine.
Retreat to the newer part of the cottage, where another woodburning stove greets you. Get comfy and settle with a good book and hot chocolate before bed.
As you head upstairs, be sure to duck underneath those quirky beams as the stairs splits into three different directions.
The first super-king bedroom conveniently neighbours the bathroom, which accommodates a shower and bath. The super-king can be split into two singles on request, perfect for a party of friends. The fireplace adds so much character to this beautiful period room.
As you head across the landing and up another small set of stairs, a gorgeous twin room with welcome you, perfect for young children.
The largest super-king bedroom awaits and is extremely spacious with the best views from the cottage. As you open the curtains each morning, you will see an abundance of wildlife and more than likely some of our sheep and cows!
You might be lucky enough to see a hare in the surrounding fields as they have a love for this area, hence the hare artwork throughout the cottage! You might choose to open the patio doors and enjoy your morning coffee whilst hare spotting on a lovely little patio.
